On Saturday the UU Rugby Development Unit held there first ever mini rugby blitz at UUJ.This ran in conjunction with the visit of Ardrossan RFC who were on tour from Scotland and had been staying in the UUJ accommodation. Over the previous two days the Sports Development Unit had ran multi-sport activities and educational sessions for the young players and the coaches attended some coach development workshops. To round their visit to UUJ off four clubs from the local community attended the Blitz day. These being Ballyclare, Belfast High School Former Pupils, Carrickfergus and Larne. Matches were held at P5, P6 and P7 level with the emphasis being totally on participation and enjoyment.
To add to the excitement Ulster Rugby player Jarlath Carey visited and took part in a question and answer session as well as signing numerous autographs.
